Day 01 & 02: Airport – Dambulla
Highlights: Dambulla Temple / Sigiriya Rock Fortress / Ancient Ruins in Polonnaruwa



Welcome to our island home. Your chauffeur guide will greet you at the airport and drive you off towards the heart of Sri Lankan culture. The drive to Dambulla is scenic and you will enjoy as you pass by various landscapes – ranging from paddies to lakes to low rise hills. We stop at the hotel giving you an opportunity to unwind after your long flight here.

In the evening we head off to the famed cave temple. The Dambulla Temple is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka and consists of five cave temples constructed in 1st Century BC by King Walagamba. It is home to many statues and paintings that can mesmerize a visitor. After the temple visit, we return to the hotel so you can relax and unwind.

Day 1 overnight stay in Dambulla.

The next morning after breakfast, we head to nearby Sigiriya to experience the stunning rock fortress. Sigiriya, a UNESCO world heritage site, is one of the most dramatic, inspiring and beautiful historical locations in the world. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle, the site was selected and built by King Kashyapa and is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning.

Once you experience the marvel that is Sigiriya and witness the breathtaking views from its summit, we head off to Polonnaruwa to see some of the best historical ruins Sri Lanka has to offer. Once a venerable kingdom, Polonnaruwa still remains as one of the best planned archaeological relic sites in the country. Highlights that should not be missed in Polonnaruwa are the Sacred Quadrangle, Statue of King Parakramabahu, Parakrama Samudraya (a lake built by King Parakramabahu), The Palace of King Parakramabahu, Potgul Vehera ( Monastery with a library), Vatadage, Lankatilake, and Gal Viharaya (Rock Temple).

After a memorable day of soaking up Sri Lanka’s magnificent heritage, we go back to the hotel in Dambulla for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03: Dambulla – Kandy
Highlights: Matale Spice Garden / Temple of the Tooth / Cultural Dance / Wood Carving Workshop

We leave Dambulla and proceed to Kandy. En-route we make a stop at the Spice Garden in Matale where you will see some important herbs such as Sandalwood, Margosa, Cocoa, Citronella, Almond, Jasmine and Coconut and learn how they are grown in their natural surroundings. You can also purchase your requirements of spices at the garden. There is much to experience on the route to Kandy – hence we stop at one of the best wood carving workshops to witness some fine woodcraft skills and traditional wooden architecture.


We reach Kandy – the spiritual city most popular for the Temple of the Tooth. In the evening we visit the temple where you can pay your respects and witness the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. You can round off the day as you enjoy a traditional cultural dance of Kandy – a vibrant event that many look forward to.

Day 04: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
Highlights: Royal Botanical Gardens / Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage / Tea Factory Visit

We leave the cultural side of Sri Lanka and head towards the rolling hills that bless this island with magnificent views and fresh climate. En route we stop at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya – where you could treat your eyes to an amazing, wide and rare collection of tropical, exotic and indigenous flora. Thereafter we stop at the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage for a heartwarming experience of witnessing and interacting with elephants as they feed and bathe.


On the drive to Nuwara Eliya your eyes will be in for a feast of the aforementioned panoramic vistas which includes fresh green tea plantations, waterfalls and high rise mountains. Once we reach the hotel, you can walk around Nuwara Eliya and enjoy it’s old English charm and quiet tranquility. Visit one of the tea factories to witness the world famous Ceylon Tea being grown, processed and blended finely to give you that oh so tasteful cuppa. Other attractions in Nuwara Eliya include the golf course, boating or fishing in Lake Gregory and the Victoria Park.

Day 05 & 06: Nuwara Eliya – Bentota
Highlights: Bentota Beaches / Water-sports / Boat Ride on Bentota River / Turtle Hatchery Visit / Lunuganga / Bevis Bawa’s Brief Garden

From Nuwara Eliya we embark towards the golden beaches of Bentota in the southern coastal belt. Once we reach the hotel in Bentota you can unwind and prepare yourself for a memorable rendezvous on a pristine beach. Bentota offers you a myriad of experiences – with a lagoon and river on one side and the beautiful beach on the other.


The options are endless with water-sports such as Banana Boat rides, Jet Skiing, Wakeboarding and Water Skiing to more calm and collected activities such as boat rides along the picturesque river, a visit to a turtle hatchery and a glimpse of amazing architecture and landscaping by Sri Lanka’s prominent architects – Geoffrey Bawa and Bevis Bawa at Lunuganga and the Brief Garden.

Day 07: Bentota – Airport

Your week in Sri Lanka and your exciting tour has come to an end. We set off to the airport with your luggage, memories and experiences – and it is time to bid you farewell and a safe flight back home, hoping you’ll be back to enjoy what Sri Lanka has to offer once more.
